Yeah, i felt that way 2, but i saw something that made me feel better about that. In DBZ Budokai pt. 1 (PS1 = WAY back lol) in a side-quest Vegeta says why he did it… i believe his words were…
“I gave him a Warrior’s Death… It was what he deserved… (Something snaps in his head)… HE WAS A SAIYAN!!!!”
AND HE WENT SUPER SAIYAN, 1ST TIME
ON EARTH epic scene lol but it helped me understand why he did it i can respect that i think it’s here somewhere try 2 find it
@SithLordNefaar022 yeah but I believe nappa should have got some revenge, it had potentail on GT when he came back and whiped out the whole city you’d think he was stronger and would put up a better fight against vegeta but no.. gt is garbage

the majiin vegeta one?!? Of course but i didn’t count that one like the 1’s i listed it’s 2 short to be a speech, but it is epic 2 be mild
2 things about Vegeta’s speech:
1.) Why does Vegeta hold Goku accredibe for his defeat when it was Gohan that beat him while Goku was heavily disabled?
2.) Why does Vegeta insist that Goku beat Frieza? Yes Goku defeated him but Trunks was the one that actually killed him and stopped him for good. Also did Vegeta forget that he was the one who asked Goku to beat Friesa and avenge the Saiyans?
This is a surprisingly good amount of filler.

Your not taking Vegeta’s “saiyan pride” into account..
While Trunks did Kill Frieza for good, this is irrelevant b/c it was Goku who handed Frieza his first defeat which set his whole demise in motion, Vegeta wiped out most of Frieza’s Empire after the fact to spite but that’s irrelevant to the point.
The super saiyan thing was gets vegeta tbc…

The Super Saiyan thing is what gets him..
Be4 Goku, there wasn’t a Super Saiyan for 3k years, and Vegeta was raised to believe that HE would be the first to re-emerge.
During most of his young life under Frieza, his plan was to become a Super Saiyan and beat Frieza to avenge the extermination of the
Saiyans. See “Vegeta’s Flashback” on that
But Goku doing both of these things instead
of him still left his personal pride and honor shot, being that he’s the Saiyan Prince..

And as far as ? #.1, he means the initial fight they both had between Goku and Vegeta on Earth where Goku used the level 3 Kaioken on him thus showing he was stronger than Vegeta all in all..

thanks for that clarification. I’ve seen this fight and listened to Vegeta’s speeches a few times and I never understood why he felt the way he did. I kne his pride had a lot to do with it but I never thought it was on that level

No problem Fam. Make a long story short, Vegeta’s been overshadowed ever since he came into contact with Goku
but u do know vegeta is stronger than goku since goku needed king kais training

The central point of DBZ is this: No matter how much you train or you try, if you are training for the wrong reasons, then you will most definetely be surpassed by someone fighting for the right reasons. That’s why Vegeta can’t beat Goku. Vegeta himself said so during the fight with kid Buu. He said that he was weaker than Goku because he only fought to surpass others, rather than his own limits
