no, the movie’s are somewhat like alternate realities…. the way yo can tell is… when goku killed frieza, he was away from earth until frieza came back with his dad. By that time he came back, he can turn ss when ever he wanted. but in this movie, he still has trouble, so this would have to take place immediately after frieza’s death.

Actually this is a “what if” movie the what if being what if Goku actually got back home instead of being sent off before Namek exploded. If you remember Goku said that turning SSJ at first wasn’t something you could bring out when you wanted, it just came around by chance. Eventually Goku grasped how to use it. So in other words Gohan wouldn’t be any older and his SSJ wouldn’t have manifested too well if he came back to Earth right away.
This doesn’t happen in the period you said. Gohan is way too young, and Goku wasn’t able to transform into super saiyan at will yet, that’s why he didn’t beat the guy from the start. The movie doesn’t really fit anywhere, it’s after they defeated freeze, but not after Goku returned to Earth (Future Trunk should be there, Goku should be able to transform at will, and Gohan should be older). I guess it’s just a “what if” movie, I still love it though, the fight is awesome.
So, where does the 3rd movie(Tree of Might) fit in the story line? Or the 2nd movie(World’s Strongest) even?
are u people dumb. every dbz movie fits in with the series. it just takes some one who knows dbz from head to toe to tell u. this happen when they were training for the androids to come. probrably as soon as they started to train he came. n goku knew he could beat cooler. just don’t know why he didnt do it from the start.
Only the bardock movie and the trunks movie really fit in.
@sagem28 because none of the movies fit the series at all he should know how to turn SS he did it for trunks rem? this movie could have only taken place after he landed and trunks told him the future but by him not turning SS until the end is a plot hole does not fit

I’m not from Japan I just like the original voices in DBZ games or anime but I also like English one xD and I love English soundtrack better than this..And I’m French they use Japanese soudntrack here with Japanese openings (I love their openings)
